While I started to be a painter, most of working time was spent at the south of Thailand, a lot of reproduction art galleries were waiting for the tourist season, and I was a painter one who had to paint any type of copy work for the tourist order.

When I did my own gallery, and had to take care the customer by myself and did the order in the same time, portrait seemed to be kind of job which made me more close to my customer, and some of them came to be my friend in the last.

I never paint my own portrait, but for the pencil drawing I did it a lot for my portrait study.

The East study portrait art by compare the protuberant curve of human face to the mountain and compare line of eyes, eyebrow and lip as the curve line of a river or a canal ; but the West study the same thing as the protuberant or curve line of muscle and bone.

I was a painter one who started my art from copy work, and that made me learn a lot of things, when the inner painter has grown, they will leave the reproduction art to do their own original in the last ; but , anyway, copy still bring them learning something always if they do it with their mind not just for copy it as a copy machine:

As same as doing a good portrait is so different meaning to record a face as a camera, and all good painters really know this truth well even they will say about it or not.

 An enthusiastic younger gave me his very big photo of himself,

 for a painting of oil portrait, 45×60 cm. Size :

 He really wanted to record his impressional time of life;

 when he was a monk in one temple to study in Buddhism.

The big photo showed me that he used to has an intention to frame this photo,

 for preservability the important time of his life;

 but changed his mind to have a painting portrait of his own instead.

I started this painting by the outline of all composition, a monk in the robe, and the symbolic background.

The robe was made almost to be golden, for the feeling of the goodness aim of a monk, the face of the monk was made as a strong shadow which was contrasted by the golden light, for the desire of a man’s instinct which will be in conflict to the golden goodness aim.

I made the background of the painting as two parts of colour, related to the man face; the conflict of the willfulness to get free from evil and the reality of the man.

I received this original order with a cheap price for the condition that artist is the copy right owner ; please contact me if you want to order artwork in this specific condition.
